What child support costs in Ontario.
Enter what the paying parent earns and how many children there are, and this gives you the monthly amount the Federal Child Support Tables set. Add the other parent's income and it will also work out a shared-parenting set-off and split the add-on expenses. It is where the conversation starts, not where it ends.
Ontario table. The table that applies is the one for the province where the paying parent lives.

What this tool still cannot tell you
- Whether a child at or over the age of majority gets the table amount at all. Section 3(2) lets a court do something else entirely once a child is grown and, say, living at university.
- Split parenting, where each parent has the majority of parenting time for at least one child. Section 8 works out a set-off in each direction, which needs a separate calculation per child.
- Undue hardship. Section 10 can move the amount either way where a parent has unusually high debts, access costs, or another family to support.
- What the income figure should actually be. Sections 15 to 20 let a court add back deductions, use a three-year average, or impute income to a parent who is self-employed or deliberately under-employed. That question decides more cases than the table does.
- Any province other than Ontario. The applicable table is the one for where the paying parent lives. See the family law practice page if that is your situation.
This tool reproduces the Federal Child Support Tables for Ontario as they came into force on October 1, 2025. The monthly figure is the table amount for the number of children and the income you enter. It does not decide whether a child at or over the age of majority is treated differently, whether undue hardship applies, or how income should be determined in the first place under sections 15 to 20 of the Guidelines. The set-off and the expense split are starting points, not entitlements. The 2025 tables do not change an existing order on their own. This is not legal advice, and nobody should settle, agree, or file anything on the strength of a number from a web page.
