What this website is, what it isn't, and the point at which Telesh Law Firm becomes your lawyer.

General information only

The content on this website is published for general information. It is not legal advice, it is not a legal opinion, and it is not a substitute for advice from a lawyer who knows the facts of your matter.

Ontario law changes, and how it applies turns on details this website cannot know. Users are advised to seek specific legal advice by contacting Telesh Law Firm Professional Corporation, or their own counsel, about any particular legal issue.

No solicitor-client relationship

Reading this website, submitting the consultation form, sending an email, or calling us does not make Telesh Law Firm Professional Corporation your lawyer.

A solicitor-client relationship begins only after we have run a conflict check, confirmed in writing that we are able to act, and a retainer agreement has been signed.

Do not send confidential information

Please do not send personal or confidential information through this website, by email, or through any form on it unless we have already been retained.

Until we are retained, what you send is not protected by solicitor-client privilege, and we may already act for someone whose interests are adverse to yours.

No warranty as to accuracy

Telesh Law Firm Professional Corporation does not warrant or guarantee the quality, accuracy, completeness, currency, or fitness for any particular purpose of the information on this website.

Articles published here are current as at their original date of publication. They are not revised as the law changes, and should not be relied on as timely.

Resources on this site

Four pages here carry information that goes out of date in ways that matter, and each deserves a specific caution.

  • The virtual court links are Zoom coordinates published by the courts. Courts change links, meeting IDs, and passcodes without notice. Always confirm against the court's own notice for your hearing before relying on them.
  • The child support calculator reproduces the Federal Child Support Tables for Ontario as they came into force on October 1, 2025. It gives the table amount for the number of children and the income you enter, and, where both incomes are supplied, a shared-parenting set-off and a section 7 expense split. Those last two are starting points rather than entitlements. It does not account for split parenting, a child at or over the age of majority, undue hardship, or how income is determined under sections 15 to 20 of the Guidelines.
  • The Small Claims interest calculator applies sections 127 to 129 of the Courts of Justice Act using the rate tables the Ministry of the Attorney General publishes. It assumes simple interest at the statutory rate and does not apply the exclusions in section 128(4) or the court's discretion under section 130.
  • The corporate filing deadline calculator restates general statutory periods for a straightforward Ontario or federal corporation. It assumes no associated companies, no elections, and no CRA-assigned exception, and it is not a substitute for your accountant.
